How Does It Work?

Refer a friend or family member to join CTFCU and earn $25 as a "thank you." Whether it's great rates, excellent service, or personalized financial guidance, Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union has offerings perfect for any stage of life. Our Member Referral Program is simple, rewarding, and the perfect way to help others experience the credit union difference!

How to Get Started:

Tell a person eligible for membership about the great rates and excellent service you've received with CTFCU!
Eligible prospective members can join online or in-person at their nearest CTFCU branch.

When the new member opens their account, they should submit their referrer's contact information. New members who include their referrer's information during application will have 30 days to submit the Referral Credit Entry Form (below).

Who Is Eligible?

Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union (CTFCU) offers membership to those who are employed with or retired from one of our current Select Employer Groups (S.E.G). Additionally, members of the NC Consumers Council (NCCC) or other approved associations are eligible to join. Those who live, work, worship, or attend school in select areas of Mecklenburg County, NC; Wake County, NC; Gaston County, NC; and Richland County, SC, and surrounding areas, deemed underserved for financial services by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA.), can become CTFCU members. Immediate family, household members, friends, and co-workers of current CTFCU members can also qualify for credit union membership.

When Will I Receive My $25 Reward?

The $25 reward incentive will be posted to the referrer's 001 Prime Share Savings account within 10 business days after the 30 day period has expired. Both the referring and new member must maintain active membership and remain in good standing for 90 days.¹

Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union will reward a $25 referral credit to a current CTFCU member who refers an eligible person for membership. To qualify to earn the reward, we need to know who referred the new member.

Terms & Conditions

*All Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice. Member referral: For new members that join Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union (CTFCU), the referrer is eligible for a $25 referral credit. The new member must open an account with a minimum $5 deposit (unless referred through company outreach event). Referral request must be submitted in the first 30 days of new account opening. The incentive will be posted to the referrer’s Prime Share Savings account within 10 days after the 90-day period has expired. Existing member and referred member must be at least 18 years or older. The first member to refer an eligible new member will receive the referral credit. Only one $25 referral credit can be rewarded to a referrer for a single account opened. Existing primary members and joint owners opening a new membership do not qualify as a new member. Former members qualify as a new member if their previous account was closed at least six months prior to the date of reopen. A member may not engage in fraudulent activity to earn a referral bonus. Employees, officials, volunteers of the credit union, and their immediate family are not eligible.

¹To qualify, the referring and new account must be active and remain in good standing for 90 days after the new member’s account is opened. An active CTFCU member is defined as conducting at least six transactions or having an open loan account in good standing during the 90-day period. A CTFCU member is considered in good standing when they meet the following:
1) No negative shares 10 days or longer, 2) No more than 10 days delinquent on any loan, 3) No unpaid charge-offs with CTFCU, and 4) Not currently in bankruptcy.

²If a member is able to assist us with arranging a company outreach event with their employer, the member may earn rewards, but would not be eligible to earn referral credit for accounts opened during the event. CTFCU may modify the terms of the referral program without prior notice by modifying the referral program rules. CTFCU reserves the right to end this program at any time.
