At Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union (CTFCU), we are fortunate to have a team of dedicated and skilled professionals who go above and beyond to serve our members. One such individual is Andrea M., Compliance and BSA Manager, who recently earned her Certified Cyber Crimes Investigator (CCCI) certification from the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI).
The CCCI certification is highly respected in the field of financial crime investigation, focusing on areas such as cybercrimes, the dark web, cryptocurrency, human trafficking, and more. For Andrea, this accomplishment is both a professional milestone and a personal achievement. She shares, “I’m just grateful to be able to see those initials behind my name and know that I really studied hard for it.”
Andrea’s enhanced expertise strengthens her ability to protect our members, as she explains, “The CCCI designation allows me the opportunity to recognize current fraud trends and to help mitigate fraud losses for my members, my family, and my friends.”
Andrea’s journey to certification wasn’t without challenges. The first time she took the exam she missed passing by one point. Instead of being discouraged, Andrea regrouped, studied even harder, and just four days later passed the exam with flying colors. This certification is evidence of CTFCU’s commitment to encouraging our employee’s professional development. Looking ahead, Andrea is exploring additional certifications in internal auditing, underscoring her passion for continuous learning and improving her skills.

As she continues to make an impact on our organization, Andrea offers this advice to others considering professional certifications: “Don’t take it for granted.
